It offers saltwater fishing at the many beaches nearby. There is also fresh water fishing at Anderson and Gibbs lakes as well as the Chimacum and Quilcene rivers. Nearby is Fort Worden State Park and North Beach County Park containing several miles of beach access. Crabbing can be done at the docks in town or at Port Hadlock, while clams can also be found at Port Hadlock as well as Mystery Bay State Park. Fort Flagler State Park, Kala Point and more beach access is a short drive away and the ferry from town goes to Fort Casey State Park on southern Whidbey Island.
